Mini shredders
Doing what you love is one thing, but sharing that passion with your kids is even better! Since our oldest daughter Melissa was 11 months old, we have been taking her on surfboards and into the waves. She has been our inspiration to create the Mini Shredders, a surf program where we teach kids to surf in a fun yet safe way.
We've surfed all over the Pacific Coast with Melissa, but there's just something special about Tamarindo. The waves are gentle and perfect for little shredders who are ready to catch their first wave. Our surf lessons are open to all kids aged four and up who can swim and are comfortable in the ocean.

Beginner surf lessons
If you've ever dreamed of learning to surf or want to improve your skills, Tamarindo's warm waters and gentle waves are the perfect destination. Our beginner lessons offer small group settings, with just 2-3 people per instructor, so you get all the attention you need.
We always begin with a safety and technique seminar on the beach to cover the basics – from carrying your surfboard to standing up as well as surfing rules and etiquette. Then, it's 90 minutes of pure surfing bliss, with your instructor by your side, helping you catch waves and provide feedback.
Our two-hour lesson is perfect for beginners, or anyone looking to take their skills to the next level. And, if you sign up for two or more lessons, we'll even include a FREE video analysis to help you track your progress. Don't miss out on this unforgettable experience!
Take your surfing to the next level with our
Intermediate surf tours
If you have some prior experience with surfing and are eager to advance and improve your skills, our intermediate surf tours are perfect for you!
Our 4-hour tours take you to some of the best surf breaks in the area. These spots are located only 20-30 minutes by car from Tamarindo.
We provide transportation by picking you up from your hotel, or you may choose to follow us if you have a rental car.
Advanced surf coaching
To fully enjoy your surfing adventure, feeling safe and respected in the water is crucial. Our advanced surf coaching offers just that, with a knowledgeable local guide who will take you to the best surf break for the day.
We offer three options for our tours, a four-hour tour to experience the nearby hotspots, or an eight-hour tour heading south in search of bigger waves. And of course, our full-day bucket list trip to Witch's Rock and Ollie's Point by boat is a must-not-miss!
