RIO CELESTE
Rio Celeste is one of the most beautiful places in Costa Rica located in the northern part of the country in the Volcano Tenorio National park. Rio means river and celeste is blue in Spanish and that’s exactly what is, The blue river. The color comes from the mix of water from two different rivers with different pH value. On this tour your guide will explain more how it works. It’s a 3h drive on a paved road (one way) from Tamarindo to the National park. It rains a lot at this part of the country and the trail can be very muddy, especially in the rainy season (May- November). If you don’t care about getting dirty this tour is an amazing experience and a fun one day get-away from the beach! It takes around 30-40 minutes to walk to the waterfall (one way). The whole trail is 6km and takes around 2-3h.
We do this tour on request for a minimum of 4 persons. Contact us for more information about the tour itself and pricing.
